In danger?
Call local emergency services first: 911 in the US and Canada, 999 in the UK, 112 across Europe and from most mobiles anywhere. On a stay, Get help in the app shows the number for where you are.
Before anyone stays
Only people you’re connected to. You see your friends and their friends. Nobody else can find you or your place.
Everyone is reviewed before they’re in. A real name, a real photo, an invite from a member, and verified signals or an ID check.
Addresses after a yes. Your address shows only to a guest you said yes to.
An emergency contact. Your host sees it only while you’re staying with them.
During a stay
Get help. The local emergency number, the address for responders, and one tap to tell us.
Share my stay. A private link for someone you trust, with the city and dates.
Something went wrong. A concern, something serious or an emergency. A person at Headquarters reads every one.
When plans fall through
If your host cancels late or isn’t there. We try to reach them, and one tap asks every other host you know nearby. Best effort: we can’t promise a bed.
If something gets damaged. The host tells the guest, with photos, and they settle it between them. If they can’t, a person reads both sides.
Report and block. From any profile, place or message.
What we don’t do
We’re not insurance. Headquarters doesn’t pay for damage, injury or somewhere else to stay. Check that your home or renters insurance covers guests.
We don’t run background checks. Reviews, invites and verification are signals, not a guarantee. Use your judgement and leave if you feel unsafe.
